Lundin Petroleum’s organic growth strategy consists of expanding its existing asset base and to develop the world’s limited reserves of fossil fuels in the most efficient and sustainable way possible. Over the years we have developed systems and processes to integrate climate related considerations in the selection of installation designs, products or equipment in order to meet that objective.
Project examples of energy efficiency and emissions reduction
- Innovative solutions for Edvard Grieg platform
Platform constructed with innovative technical solutions to reduce emissions and discharges to sea, including low-NOX emission technology, waste heat recovery, flare gas recovery, gas injection and electrification from shore.

- Battery technology on offshore vessel in Norway
A supply ship chartered by Lundin Norway will get battery technology installed, which will reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Apart from a significant cost saving, the solution is expected to decrease NOx and GHG emissions by a quarter.
- R&D for Carbon Capture Storage (CCS)
Support to research project in Norway on developing solutions to reinject carbon into the ground.

Carbon Disclosure Project
Lundin Petroleum has been reporting on its climate change governance and strategy and disclosed its greenhouse gas emission to the CDP since 2008.
In 2018, Lundin Petroleum obtained a score of A-.
