Human rights are respected and protected throughout Lundin Petroleum's worldwide operations

The majority of Lundin Petroleum's activities are located offshore and in some of the most developed and regulated areas of the world, which means that we conduct our business in a low risk environment in terms of potential human rights violations . Lundin Petroleum is fully committed to meet its responsibility towards its staff, hired contractors as well as to external actors who might be impacted by its activities, and makes sure to adhere to all applicable national and local legislation as well as to follow principles for business and human rights embodied in international initiatives, such as the United Nations Global Compact and the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Lundin Petroleum has committed to respect and protect employees' rights, including freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining and ensures equal opportunity without discrimination on the basis of age, culture, disability, gender, race or religion.

A Human Rights Policy and implementing Guidelines have been developed in order to ensure that human rights are respected and protected throughout Lundin Petroleum's worldwide operations.

All of Lundin Petroleum's employees undergo an induction with the purpose of familiarising them with their rights and responsibilities and with Lundin Petroleum's Code of Conduct and Corporate Responsibility policies. In addition, presentations of the Human Rights Policy & Guidelines have been given to the Board and staff in France, Indonesia, Malaysia, Norway, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

Grievance mechanisms

Lundin Petroleum's Human Rights Guidelines provides for the establishment, where and when relevant, of a remediation mechanism in the event of a claim.

A Whistleblowing Policy and Procedure is in place that states the recommendations and steps an employee or a contractor should take in case of witnessing any behaviour that violates Lundin Petroleum's Corporate Responsibility commitments or applicable law.

Lundin Petroleum has strengthened its commitment to protect human rights by joining international multi-stakeholder initiatives and by participating inforums on business and human rights:

Global standard for preventing and addressing the risk of adverse impacts on human rights linked to business activity.
