Education - Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia
Lundin Petroleum AB, represented by Lundin Oil & Gas B.V. has granted scholarships to two students, Zaki Mubarok and Taufik Fansur, to complete their final year of the Petroleum Engineering at the Institut Teknologi Bandung. The students were selected by the faculty on the basis of their academic qualifications and need of financial assistance.


Social development - SOS-Children's Villages, Sweden (SOS-Barnbyar)
SOS-Children's Villages takes care of orphans and abandoned children, the most vulnerable members of society, in different parts of the world. Lundin Petroleum has been a sponsor of SOS-Barnbyar since 2006. It has so far contributed to the partial funding of the Gammarth Village, situated near Tunis in Tunisia, the Cibubur Village in Jakarta, Indonesia, the Go Vap Village situated near Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam and the Siem Reap Village in Cambodia.

Social development - Save the Children, Norway (Redd Barna)
Lundin Petroleum has been supporting Save the Children Norway, (Redd Barna), an organisation which provides emergency and long-term relief to children throughout the world since 2007.

Governance - Institute of Graduate Studies, Switzerland

Lundin Petroleum funds research at the Institute of Graduate Studies in Geneva on governance in the oil and gas sector. One of the research projects has resulted in a two-day academic workshop and a special edition on "The Governance of Natural Resources" (in Global Governance, Vol.17, No 2, April - June 2011). Lundin Petroleum participated in the workshop and contributed an article to the journal. The second topic is on the effect of oil and gas and economic development.

Environment - Promoting biodiversity
Lundin Petroleum has funded a project in the vicinity of the Caspian Sea which aims at replenishing the depleted sturgeon stock. Funds cover both the artificial breeding of sturgeons and their release in the Volga Delta area.


Environment - Promoting biodiversity
Lundin Petroleum has funded the breeding of the close to extinct Asian white cranes, also known as the Siberian crane, in the Oksky State Biosphere Reserve, their release in the Astrakhan State Biosphere Reserve, and their tracking along their traditional migration route through the Volga Delta area into Iran.


Environment - Clean-up of the Volga Delta Area
In order to promote respect for the environment, Lundin Petroleum, funds on an annual basis a local action which consists in having students collect waste on the shores of the Volga left by tourist. The action is widely publicised through local media as a means to remind everyone of their responsibility to protect and preserve the environment.


Matching Programme
Lundin Petroleum encourages a corporate citizenship approach within all Lundin Petroleum affiliated companies and staff, by matching personal or company contributions, provided they fulfil the company's sustainable investments criteria.
Projects to date have included monetary contributions for the purchase of dogs for the blind in France (Handi Chiens, 2007), for building medical facilities after the earthquake in Haiti (Partners in Health, 2010), for the purchase of tents for refugees from Libya in Tunisia (Reconstruire ma Tunisie, 2011), for the purchase of medical supplies for Libyan war victims (Libya SOS, 2011), for the post-earthquake reconstruction effort in New Zealand (Red Cross, 2011), etc.
